Simple Truths

Family issues have left me with little to contribute to the Christmas' of those I love. Hopefully a good attitude will bless people I cross paths with this season. Its easy to remember that Jesus IS the reason for the season, when I am not distracted by cultural trappings of Christmas.

I want to model my life that way. The less distractions the better. I have been gleaning Minimalist blogs. Zen??? I dunno. It seems I have caught on just as a real movement is in motion. Great opportunity for me to gather free information and encouragement.

I have always been a thrifty SHOPPER. I want to learn to be more of a CONCIENSIOUS consumer. I'm good at shopping...I need practice at being conscientious and disciplined. Planning my work and working His plan.

"I sought through prayer and meditation to improve my conscious contact with God ....Praying ONLY for the knowledge of His will for me and the power to carry that out." A simple powerful prayer.

Fruit of the Spirit - Self Control

Temperance
Restraint
Continence
Constraint
Discretion
Reserve
Self-Government
Self-Discipline
Sobriety
Balance
Stability
Strength of Character

If you get out of the light you become a sentimental Christian, and live only on your memories, and your testimony will have a hard metallic ring to it. Beware of trying to cover-up your present refusal to "walk in the light" by recalling your past experiences when you did "walk in the light" (1 John 1:7). Whenever that Spirit gives you a sense of restraint, call a halt and make things right, or you will go on quenching Him and grieving Him without even knowing it. Oswald Chambers

Trust, Surrender, Submission

It seems to me that God does not want to rip anything away from me, nor for me to plop everything in His lap and forget about it.

Once I reach for the white flag I am prompted to open my fists, palms up, to allow His Spirit Wind to separate the wheat from the chaff.

The hardest thing is not to grasp the wheat when I think He is done.

Another sister looks at it this way:
As I leave my hands open to let go, I will leave them open to receive.

Remember

Pigs don't need jewelry.
Analysis and paralysis rhyme for a reason.
Slow down, pay attention and conserve fuel.
Discretion is not necessarily deception.
If I think myself humble or wise; it ceaces to be true.
Most things are better left to the experts.
If it is not in the house, I won't eat it.
Jesus loves me as I am...but doesn't want me to stay this way.
Be a lamp, not a spotlight.
Charity starts at home.
I can dance like noone is watching but not always in public.
